This Publicly Available Specification requires waste management organisations to demonstrate sound environmental, health, safety and quality practices which will then assist clients in selecting their contractors. The Scheme has created a network of quality assured waste management companies of all shape and size, upon whom industry can depend to provide an efficient, effective and measured solution for its waste problem.
The specification provides the framework for the demonstration of performance against key areas of delivery, including landfill diversion and materials recovery, assuring potential and existing customers of the service they are procuring. The Scheme is open to all waste management companies that handle waste themselves regardless of size, tonnages or materials.
In order to become PAS 402 certified you need to produce a publicly available report for inspection which includes information covering all of the requirements of PAS 402:2013. This includes information such as your Permit details, how you manage legal requirements, H&S arrangements and performance reporting i.e. material recovery rates for the reporting period etc.

We will undertake a site visit in order to gather all information to enable us to write the report (and supply any additional documents that you may need), as well as undertake a site inspection to help you identify any issues that need rectifying prior to the inspection. Costs for this programme of work start from £3,495 plus VAT.
If you are confident that your site and operations meet all legal and permit obligations, then the PAS 402 Fast Track service may be more suitable for you. We will request that a range of documents are e mailed to us for review and we will conduct a telephone interview to enable us to write the report (and supply any additional documents that you may need). However, we would not come to site and conduct a site inspection and therefore it would be down to you to ensure that operational practices meet the standard required. Costs for this programme of work start from £1,995 plus VAT.
